Council emission reductions
Continue to drive emissions reductions and cost savings for Council through implementation of the Emissions reduction program including solar, batteries, lighting upgrades, energy/water/waste/fleet monitoring, electrification and fleet transition, as well as advancing the large-scale solar feasibility study at the Noosa Waste and Resource Recovery Centre.

Rectification works ongoing at Noosa Leisure Centre Cooroy Library and The J. Rectifications works completed at Noosaville Library with new solar scheduled by end 2026. Emissions reduction capital works PID for 26/27 submitted for future works.

A solar panel audit has been completed in October 2025, with rectification works for identified issues currently underway. Solar extension at the Tewantin Admin Building is complete. Future emissions reduction Zero Emissions Noosa (ZEN) capital projects have been identified for implementation for 25/26 FY. A progress report was presented to the December 2025 Planning & Environment Committee meeting. Zero Emissions investment roadmap is being developed, consultants have been engaged, and multiple Councillor workshops were undertaken.
