Engagement with the State government for State-driven development continues. The State government confirmed a social housing development of 32 dwellings in Tewantin and purchase of an additional site in Tewantin. Consultants engaged using Federal Housing Support Program funding to undertake master planning and feasibility testing for affordable housing outcomes on Council carpark sites including Bottlebrush Avenue and part of the transit site at Noosa Junction and Doonella Street Tewantin. 62-64 Lake Macdonald Drive Cooroy affordable housing project underway. Housing monitoring ongoing utilising Housing ID and Corelogic platforms.

Councillor workshop scheduled for February 2026. 62-64 Lake Macdonald Drive Cooroy affordable housing project underway with remediation works completed. $4.1m State funding for essential infrastructure works received under the Residential Activation Fund. Contract of sale of Lot 1 initiated. Housing monitoring ongoing utilising Housing ID and Corelogic platforms.

Fact sheets to promote sharing of existing housing stock published. Housing ID subscription for monitoring established. Consultation with State Housing regarding development for social housing progressed. Investigations underway for housing outcomes at Cooroy. Scheme amendments for social and affordable housing outcomes awaiting State approval.

The NSCPT commenced August 2024 and Council is currently working with DTMR on the delivery of this project. The completion date for the Transit Hubs has been extended to January 2025 as a result of challenges finding consensus in preferred location for each hub. The Cooroy location has now been confirmed, with additional workshops and consultation required to progress the selection of the Noosaville hub location.

Council has experienced ongoing delays in recruiting a Transport and Traffic Co-ordinator to lead this project. In addition, the Northern Sunshine Coast Transport Strategy has a project delivery date of February 2025, which will be a key strategy document to inform the future transit hubs at Noosa Civic and Cooroy. The project has additionally experienced delays due to DMTR staff being on leave and Council is awaiting review of DTMR's consultancy ITQ briefing document.

Noosa Woods pathway (including connection to Sofitel boardwalk) & Path widening at Memorial Park, Tewantin are scheduled for delivery in November & February respectively; Design finalisation of missing links (Boreen Point, Factory St, Kauri St, Grifith Ave) to be fast tracked for delivery in Q4 of 23/24 FY; approx. $1million allocated to pathway asset renewals this FY - this is being aligned with Walking & Cycling Strategy to deliver increased level of service (widening) where appropriate; Walking Network Plans for Cooroy Train Station & Good Shepherd School Noosaville are under development & are to be finalised in Q2 following incorporation of feedback from TMR & Internal stakeholders.

Ongoing work planned for a couple of projects onsite including netball clubhouse and looking for fudning opportunities for Road and Pathways project at NDSC. Cooroy has projects including Gym expansion project and carpark and entry design.

Noosa District Netball Clubhouse rebuild underway with an anticipated completion in August 2025. Internal road upgrade at NDSC subject to design and external funding opportunities. Cooroy Sports Complex: • Field lighting upgrades to be completed and handed over by August 2025. • Gymnastics and multi-use area upgrades detailed design has been completed, now awaiting final costings and approval to go to tender for construction. • Internal road and car park upgrades on hold until capital works allocation allocated.

Implementation across both sites is ongoing with projects listed in 10 year CW pipeline. Cooroy Gymnastics clubhouse expansion is in funding stages, as is field lighting in 24/25 CWP. Note-relisted in the new 24/25 Operational Plan

Seniors Connect (Seniors Social Isolation Program - SSIP): Eleven sessions have been held across seven locations—Pomona, Sunshine Beach, Kin Kin, Cooran, Boreen Point, Peregian Beach, and Cooroy. Sessions focused on navigating the aged care system and healthy ageing. Funding for the program continues until 2029. Generations Connect (Intergenerational Program): One art therapy session has been delivered, with a second session scheduled in October in collaboration with Rise & Thrive. Funding continues until June 2026.

Seniors Connect (Seniors Social Isolation Program - SSIP): Fourteen sessions were held across seven locations: Pomona, Sunshine Beach, Kin Kin, Cooran, Boreen Point, Peregian Beach, and Cooroy. Sessions focused on navigating the aged care system and healthy ageing. This 2026 roadshow will include three topics - Finance & Legal, Brain Health and Nutrition & Gut Health. Funding for the program continues until June 2029. - Generations Connect (Intergenerational Program): arttherapy, movement and Christmas sessions have been delivered. A series of three workshops in collaboration with Rise & Thrive will be delivered in February/March 2026. Pottery, pickleball and storytime sessions will also be incorporated into the program by May 2026. Funding continues until June 2026. In 2025, 16 information sessions were held at Noosa Seniors covering topics such as in-home support, financial and digital literacy, health and wellbeing and carer's support. The offering also included the first 8-week mindfulness course, which was attended by 20 participants. The Noosa Seniors Expo saw a 50% increase in attendance compared to previous year.

Range of activities are being identified and will be delivered part of Living Well Noosa, funding application submitted for a satellite Headspace by YouTurn with Council support (unsuccessful). Waves of Kindness now offering Mental health support from Noosaville and Cooroy (all ages). Funded mental health and A&OD program at Noosa Flexible Learning Centre through Australian Drug Foundation Partnership. Fund Rehabituation mental health & wellbeing program for older youth cohort.

Major Grant Submitted for Resource Recovery Hub in partnership with Waste. Partnering with Commercial Property unit on potential land activiation project for emplyment land. Initial masterplanning beginning on additional employment land incporporated into the SEQ Regional Plan at Cooroy.

Final report received 10/01/2024. Structure planning being undertaken on Urban Footprint extension at Cooroy for employment lands.

Numerous community preparedness activities conducted, including the Noosa Show (12 and 13 September) with 650 engagements and distribution of 350 readiness packs. Noosa Aged care engagements with Palm Lakes Cooroy, Riverlands, Noosa Waters Retirement Estate and Noosa Seniors Connect programs. Community resilience activities took place in partnership with emergency services agencies at Stratford Park, Kin Kin, Pomona and Boreen Point. Get Ready Schools bookings in preparation for October - mid December to 2,500 local schools and home/flexi school visit. Successful Sim table engagements took place through July and September collaborating with Environmental Operations staff.

Plans for trial customer service counter at Cooroy Library have been developed. Start date has been delayed due to movement of CS staff. New commencement date will be established once new CS staff have been recruited.
