2025–263 initiatives
1.2.1 Bushfire Management PlanQ3 · Minor Disruption · The burning program is progressing well for the 2026 season. A number of planned burns from the 2025 season were carried over and have been incorporated into the 2026 schedule which is the reason for the minor disruption status. One multi-agency burn occurred in July 2025 at Girraween. Three reserve planned burns have occurred in March 2026. Favourable weather conditions and low soil moisture are enabling planned burns to progress in April. Training has continued for program staff as planned.
1.2.2 Community BushcareQ3 · Minor Disruption · The ongoing program is progressing as planned. All Bushcare Groups and are working though their annual work plans with the groups. The review of the Bushland Care Guideline remains outstanding due to staff capacity resource constraints in recent months. It is on track for review in the new Financial Year.
1.2.3 BiosecurityQ3 · On Track · An internal working group has been established, with several sessions held to help hone the critical elements of the Plan. The plan is in draft format and has been sent to agency stakeholders for review prior to being reported to Council. General community engagement through 'Your Say' is planned for mid year.

1.2.3 Biosecurity · ended the year with minor disruption

A draft is currently being reviewed; however, staff resources have been limited due to balancing competing operational demands. Completion anticipated in Q1/2 FY25/26.

1.2.1 Bushfire Management PlanQ4 · On Track · Program planning completed for 2025 burns. Planned burns being undertaken as weather and conditions allow throughout Q4. As we are at the mid-point of the programme, we will not have a clear picture of completion until Q1 reporting of FY25/26.
1.2.2 Community BushcareQ4 · On Track · Annual programme for all Volunteer Bushcare groups successfully delivered.

1.2.6 Environment and Sustainability Roundtables · ended the year with minor disruption

Awaiting the confirmation of a new council to endorse the framework for the project. Note-as previously reported. Note-ongoing and part of BAU as part of our ongoing stakeholder relationship management

1.2.1 Bushfire Management PlanQ4 · Completed · Program successfully delivered.
1.2.2 Community BushcareQ4 · Completed · Program successfully delivered and expanded with an additional two groups joining the program. Current program has 21 groups with over 250 active volunteers that contributed over $200K in-kind labour hours. Professional support from Council is currently 2.0FTE with additional contractor support to ensure all groups have engagement from Council on all projects. Council support includes co-development of annual work plans.
1.2.3 Land Conservation PlanQ4 · Completed · Program successfully delivered Expansion of the program included 23 new Land for Wildlife properties and 1 new Voluntary Conservation Agreement. Council is also in the process of formalising 1 new Nature Refuge.
1.2.4 Environmental GrantsQ4 · Completed · Grants program successfully delivered with 2 environmental grants totalling $113,292.50 and 4 Climate Change and Resilience Grants totalling $50,000. Prior to the application window, Council conducted a community grants information session that included information on both streams of environmental grants.
1.2.5 Noosa Biosphere Reserve FoundationQ4 · Completed · Support for NBRF continues from Council with expanded networking and collaboration with Council projects. Strategic Plan for NBRF successfully undertaken.
1.2.7 BiosecurityQ4 · On Track · Note-previously experienced a minor disruption, now on track for delivery in FY25 Note-the review of the Biosecurity Plan is relisted in the new 24/25 Operational Plan
