FY 2022–23

2.6.1 Review the Community Grants program and policy.

Internal and external consultation completed and draft framework discussed with key internal staff members.

Grants review will align with the Community Purpose land and Infrastructure Tenure Policy. Community Tenure Policy expected to be workshopped with Cllrs in May. The outcome of the Community Grants Program and Policy could vary depending on the feedback received during the review of the Tenure policy. Note-previously on track, now experiencing a minor disruption

2.6.2 Implement a 12-month program of volunteer workshops to increase capacity and sustainability of community organisations and activities.

A wide variety of free and low-cost workshops offered to our community from mental health first aid courses through to strategic planning workshops

2.6.4 Support community led programs, events and activities through advice, funding and partnering.

Various actions ongoing e.g. ( i) RADF Round 20 was completed, supporting local artists and arts organisations to realise their projects and professional development. 4 projects were funded to the value of $28,150 including two which are supporting young artists. (ii) Noosa Leisure Centre worked with Sunshine Coast Futsal Association to re-introduce futsal to Noosa. There has been no futsal in Noosa since the Covid closure and now we have helped create a junior Sunday competition.

Cultural Development Services and Communications Connections, through the RADF Program and Community Grants Program, have supported numerous initiatives and projects throughout the year. Cultural and Community Development Officers have provided support to the community, arts and cultural sector through the Grow Your Arts initiative and a 12-month calendar of volunteer initiatives.

2.6.2 Review and complete the Community Grants program and policy to further support community organisations to deliver community development initiatives.

Workshop to be held with Councillors late October regarding proposed changes to grants policy (based on consultation, desktop review).

Draft Community Grants Policy complete and will be presented to Council in the January round of meetings for consideration.
