Environmental Services are currently preparing a budget submission for the 2024/25 budget for two new positions - Senior Fauna Management Officer and Flying Fox Management Officer. Waratah Reserve Flying Fox Management Plan has been prepared and provided to the community for consultation. The final Waratah Reserve Flying Fox Management Plan is due for completion by the end of October 2023. Ongoing response to customer requests is continuing.

Program successfully delivered through regular scheduled monitoring of permanent roosts. Increases in population at Waratah Reserve and Wallace Park were managed in accordance with the SoMI through community engagement, increased monitoring and impact assessments for adjacent properties.

SoMI implemented for the Kin Kin roost following community concern due to seasonal increase in flying fox population. Additional resources being applied to monitoring and impact assessment in Q1 of FY25/26.
