5.5.2 Co-ordinate a review of Council's Strategic Risk Register with the new Council to identify and mitigate against any emerging risks and determine Council's risk appetite.

Council's Strategic Risk Register has been independently reviewed by Council's insurer in 2024. The Register will be further reviewed/enhanced by EO Internal Audit and Corporate performance and A&R Committee. In 2025, a comprehensive review of Council's Enterprise Risk and Opportunity Management Policy will be undertaken in conjunction with Councillors and Council's insurer. This will included reviewing Council's risk appetite levels.

Workshop with councillors to commence review of Council's current Enterprise Risk and Opportunity Management Policy which includes Council's risk appetite levels will be scheduled this FY, with the support of Council's insurance provider (Regional Risk Coordinator).

Update on Council's Strategic Risk Register will form part of the upcoming workshop.

Workshop with councillors to commence a review of Council's Enterprise Risk and Opportunity Management Policy (EROMP) which includes Council's risk appetite is now scheduled for completion in FY25/26, with the support of Council's insurance provider (Regional Risk Coordinator). An update on Council's Strategic Risk Register will form part of the upcoming workshop. This financial year, the Councillors were reminded of the EROMP and to consider risk factors in their overall decisionmaking processes.

Planning underway with external provider to assist with a future workshop with Councillors to review Council's Enterprise Risk and Opportunity Management Policy, including Council's risk appetite position. As part of the workshop, Council's Strategic Risk Register will also be addressed.

Planning is underway with the external provider to support an upcoming workshop with Councillors to review Council’s Enterprise Risk and Opportunity Management Policy, including Council’s risk appetite position. The workshop will also address Council’s Strategic Risk Register. Initial consultations with internal stakeholders have commenced to inform new content considerations. The Executive Team is currently reviewing the existing Strategic Risk Register to support the policy and framework review process. The Governance team is awaiting resourcing support to progress this work further in a staged approach.
