High-risk erosion prone areas within coastal localities have been identified in the CHAP risk assessment for current and future timestamps. Scoping forward works is to be addressed by the High Risk Erosion Working Group.

Works progressing with investigations into the Eastern Beaches coastal creeks budgeted within 2023/24 and continuing into 2024/2024, informing future works requirements.

Design, and construction funding has been obtained through QRRRFWork for Sunshine Beach - Ross Crescent - Slope Stabilisation Construction. Burgess Creek Monitoring Project with UniSC is complete.

Progress through the High-Risk Erosion Prone Area Working Group has stalled due to staff changes and limited delivery of CHAP actions. A Noosa Eastern beach creeks erosion risk report has been delivered by consultants and is currently under review.

Progress through the High-Risk Erosion Prone Area Working Group has stalled due to staff vacancy and changes. A Noosa Eastern Beaches Creek Erosion Risk study has been delivered by consultants, covering geotechnical, hydrological & vegetation assessments at the nine creeks along the Eastern Beaches. Assessments were used to identify slope stability risks as well as urgent, short, medium and long term actions to reduce these risks. Actions vary from urgent remediation works through to longer term revegetation and weed control.
