Recommendation

That Council

  1. Note the report by the Community Connection Manager to the General Committee Meeting dated 9 June 2026; and
  2. Approve the out-of-round 2026-27 Three-Year Signature Community Event Grants as outlined in Attachment 1, subject to sufficient funds totalling $27,000 being allocated in the adopted 2026- 27 Council budget.

Report

The purpose of this report is for Council to consider and approve the 2026-27 Community Grants

for Signature Community Events as provided in Attachment 1 of this report, with a total grant value of $27,000, to align with the current Signature Community Event Grants Program.

Signature Community Event Grants provide financial support for up to three years to eligible not- for-profit community organisations to support the delivery of events that provide significant benefits to the broad Noosa community and/or high-profile events that celebrate significant community occasions. The Community Grants Policy and Guidelines allow for late or out-of-round applications where there are exceptional circumstances. Council officers determined that the applications met the threshold for exceptional circumstances. The applications were then assessed against the same criteria used in the 2025 primary round for Signature Community Events. To ensure equitable decision-making, officers also compared the assessment outcomes with those of the applications endorsed by Council in June 2025. These three applications achieved high assessment scores and are recommended for funding under the program. As the current program is in its first year, it is recommended that funding be approved for the remaining program period through a two-year funding agreement covering 2026/27 and 2027/28, subject to sufficient funding availability in the adopted budgets.
