INTEGRATED COMPLIANCE & ENFORCEMENT POLICY (REFERRED FROM SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE DATED 6 MAY 2025)
Executive summary
The purpose of this report is to seek Council's adoption of the Integrated Compliance and Enforcement Policy. This policy aims to enhance governance and provides a clear framework for Council to administer its regulatory responsibilities in a safe, fair, unbiased, balanced, consistent, and transparent manner. The policy applies a risk-based approach to education, compliance and enforcement activities, ensuring an effective and efficient use of resources, and allows council to be responsive to the community’s expectations. This policy acknowledges that generally there are high levels of voluntary self-compliance across our community and commits to continuing to address regulatory issues by encouraging voluntary self-compliance and discouraging non-compliance where appropriate. In cases where an issue cannot be resolved Council has a suite of regulatory tools available which range from education, through to informal action or enforcement.

That Council
- Note the report by the Business Improvement & Integration Officer to the Services & Organisation Committee Meeting dated 6 May 2025, and
- Adopt the Integrated Compliance and Enforcement Policy as outlined in Attachment 1
