Sunrise praised for increasing on-air diversity after unveiling new co-host Pauline Hanson (The Chaser)

The Seven Sunrise team have today announced the search for a new female anchor is over, with long time contributor and famed white supremacist Pauline Hanson to take over from Samantha Armitage from tomorrow morning. The news comes following Armitage’s shock announcement this morning that she was stepping down for extended stress leave after having to listen to one of Kochies jokes.

“We’re really glad Pauline will now be joining us every morning,” said Sunrise Producer John White. “While we’re upset our first choice of the Grand-High Klan Wizard wasn’t available, we’re excited to see what insights Pauline will bring about what it’s like to live as a minority in this country.”

However, not everyone is happy with the announcement, with many long time Sunrise fans expressing fears about Hanson’s views on race. “She’s just not the appropriate person for that kind of role,” said one worried Sunrise viewer. “Breakfast TV is no place for her kind of views. Hahahaha okay sorry I can’t keep a straight face saying that. I had you going there for a moment didn’t I?”
